Megalith 2016: A Home Odyssey
Today we present you the latest work of the Duffy London designers – the modernist table MEGALITH
Every true science fiction fan has heard of “2001: A Space Odyssey” – the masterpiece of Arthur C. Clarke. That work and the subsequent eponymous Hollywood production served as the inspiration of our already-known studio Duffy London. Arthur C. Clarke wrote the novel, Stanley Kubrick directed the film, and Duffy London created the table
It impresses with its entirely glass main body, miraculously balancing on seemingly unstable monolithic blocks. It looks like the piece of art made by Duffy London somehow managed to circumvent the laws of physics. And remains in a constant state of imminent collapse. But everything remains in its place. And the best place for this table would be… your dining room.
Mild steel powder coated, polished stainless steel and tempered glass have been used for the production of the table. It can be ordered in black, white or red. Available in two sizes – single – diameter 170 cm and height 75 cm; and double – length 300 cm, width 170 cm and height 75 cm.
